Vindigo.com redesign
I was tasked to give Vindigo Inc's website an update and a facelift to coincide with the company's upcoming product launches. As a result, the new products are strongly emphasized in the redesigned site.
Because of time and budget constraints, the site was done mainly in HTML and CSS, with some Javascript. My goal in this assignment was to break away from cliche elements common to other mobile business websites (glossy beveled buttons, lifestyle photos, etc.) and instead create a clean, simpler design in tune with the latest trends in web design in 2008. I studied several other websites featured on bestwebgallery.com for inspiration.
While the blue color scheme reflected Vindigo's established corporate branding at the time, the motion blur streaks were my own touch to add an illusion of speed at the company CEO's request. On the home page, the six product icons would flip from left to right when the mouse cursor hovered over each of them, and the corresponding product would display on the phone screen on the left. The Vindigo-branded phone was my own design, illustrated in Photoshop, inspired by several handsets similar to the LG Chocolate which hide the 1-9 keypad (thus using a phone that did not make the page too tall).
