Toy Blocks
Made with: Maya 6.5, Adobe Premiere 6.0
Toy Blocks is a short animation I did for one of my art and design courses at Purdue University. The assignment was to create a 3D animation demonstrating a creative way to animate your own name. I chose to make a pair of hands spell out my name in wooden toy blocks. I made this animation using a combination of active rigid bodies (the blocks spilling out of a toy chest), smooth bind rigging (the hands) and keyframe animation (moving the blocks around).
The textures were created by myself from photos of wood, and the hand models were provided by professor Nicoletta Adamo-Vilani for another course I had taken at Purdue. The background music is "If You Open Your Heart" by Nobuo Uematsu.
